An important message about the future of Bring Good News from Gil Lozada:

Dear Friends,

There have been some very exciting things happening with regard to the organization of Bring Good News.  Over the last several years, we have experienced positive growth, and as such must also now experience positive change.  We have been very active in sharing the Good News of Jesus in Myanmar, China, Indonesia, India, Egypt, Mexico, Pakistan, Philippines, Tibet and Thailand.  As we continue to grow our ministry I believe the next step is to identify a person to come along beside me to move the mission forward.  I have asked Rick Wolford to join Bring Good News as we continue to grow and expand our global ministry.  Rick will eventually be phased into my role as the director of the organization.

Rick holds a degree in ministry from Lincoln Christian University, a nursing degree from the University of Indianapolis, and a master’s degree in nursing administration from Indiana University.  He has twenty years of experience in local ministry, serving churches in Indiana and Illinois, as well as several years of nursing experience.  From 2002 until 2012 Rick served as the Executive Director of FAME (Fellowship of Associates of Medical Evangelism) where he traveled the globe leading medically focused mission trips in various countries in Asia, Africa and South & Central America.  Rick and his wife Kay have two married children and three grandchildren.

Along with this personnel addition, Bring Good News will be organizing itself as an IRS recognized tax exempt 501(c)3 organization thus eliminating the burden for South Nassau Christian Church to maintain the legal and financial responsibilities associated therewith.  Likewise, Rick’s sphere of influence among Christian churches, God willing, will be very helpful to enlist additional partners greatly needed to touch the lives of unreached peoples worldwide. Moreover, we will be continuing all of our current programs and perhaps adding some new ones.

Please do not fear.  I am not leaving Bring Good News!  This will allow me to be more active in my position as an Elder at SNCC and create the opportunity for a solid succession plan in the future to ensure the continued success of Bring Good News.  Be assured that Rick is fully devoted to serving the Lord and is sincerely committed to helping the poor and needy people God sets on his path.

This has not been an easy or quick process.  There have been several events that have seamlessly come together further demonstrating God’s orchestration in this whole process.

I am very excited about where Bring Good News is going.  I am very excited about partnering with Rick and seeing where his leadership takes BGN next!  However, Rick and I cannot do it alone.  We need your help in this time of change.  Please be in prayer:

  • For my wife Velvet and I as we work to take these next steps.
  • For Rick and Kay as Rick prepares to move into his role with BGN.
  • For the process of creating the legal entity of Bring Good News.
  • For the board members God has set apart to help direct the affairs of BGN.
  • For Bring Good News, that we will be far-reaching and effective with the Gospel of Jesus.

I would love to discuss these new changes with you should you so desire.  Feel free to give me a call anytime, just remember that I will be leaving to visit our missionaries in India and Pakistan in mid September.  I will be returning in mid October and will be glad to share more from that trip as well as our organizational plans.  As always, let me express my deep gratitude for your love, prayers and support you have given me throughout our ministry.  May God’s light continue to shine in your hearts.

Your Coworker in Christ,
